Piper Keairnes is the Lead Architect at VCG, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. He is currently leading a team of Software Architects to create a sophisticated .NET Enterprise Application Framework for a highly customizable product line. When he's not working, having fun with his family, writing software, or playing Xbox, he's on the tennis court.
Piper has been developing software for 25 years, starting on Apple, TI and TRS computers in his childhood, then moving on to Macintosh, UNIX, mainframe, MS-DOS, OS/2 and Windows. He has developed a variety of object-oriented solutions for network communication, digital imaging, data warehousing, and enterprise business applications. He has in-depth experience with C/C++, Delphi, Java and .NET.
He worked for Boeckh in Indiana and Wisconsin, developing systems for the property insurance industry.
He also worked for Unisys in the Unix Systems Group, developing software change management solutions and porting 32-bit System V R4 UNIX to run on 36-bit Unisys mainframes.
Piper graduated from Purdue University in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science.
