Got a little bit of a late start with the regular schedule today. Doug was late because of a flat tire. (That’s four on the team in a week. These roads are tough.) He had scheduled a special test to be sure that we could hold enough brake pressure on the 20-degree grades we may see in the race. Worked fine, with control pressure left to spare.
We’re testing the shut-down and start-up procedures this morning. Took us 26 minutes to boot the Jeep (about 35 computers and instruments). Also got all of the software under first version release control. Still working to automate pushing the latest version to the Jeep each day with minimal manual intervention.
Target today is to pick up the test plan from where we left it. We may also try to implement the “vertical LIDAR” that projects its scan in a vertical slice. The goal of this system is to detect rough road ahead in time to slow down.
