Cool, clear, and dry weather--in the 70s. Competition for test time on the Jeep is stiff.
Started the day testing on the Vehicle Control System. We are now able to continue with accurate speed control, even if two of the three sources fail. Accurate data on our speed is critical to controlling the power and braking, and we’re seeing really good results, even on steep grades. Good to know now that we won’t lose control from a minor failure.
Excellent tests on the Attitude and Heading Reference system, and on the Inertial Navigation System. Both are stable and producing consistent heading and position information.
The word at 11 p.m. is that IRV has successfully dodged an obstacle. This is a major milestone.
