IRV plays dodge

Date: 09/22/2005 | Posted by Scott Jones

BIG day today. We got IRV to respond to random obstacles using our full complex system. It was a genuine team effort because so many pieces needed to be integrated. Afterwards, the team all stood in the road to let IRV dodge all of them. IRV wasn't perfect, but nobody got hurt. ;-) We'll try that again tomorrow--it's great incentive to get the software/hardware right!  ;-)

Took some amazing pictures of the sky tonight at sunset. We'll try to post them. The Milky Way was completely awesome tonight as we passed the big test.

The team is redoubling their commitment by either spending the next 5 days in the desert or staying at a nearby travelodge hotel to cut our commute time. The daily 4-hour commute is takes a big chunk out of our day.

We have a team meeting at noon every day to assess where we are and to set the goals for the day. The team has really gelled and is working great together!
